Messy Church

Come one – come all. This is hands on faith exploration for ages 0-100!

*Please note that our Messy Church gatherings are temporarily on hold due to COVID*

Growing disciples from ages 0-100 are welcome to this multi-generational, hands-on class, every Sunday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM. Through the arts, crafts, hands-on activities, drama, storytelling and music, we explore Bible stories and themes, and grow meaningful relationships between generations. We believe that when all generations learn together, our faith and our church family both grow stronger – sometimes in ways that are surprising!

New participants are always welcome. Parents are welcome to stay and “get messy” with their children, but can also sign their children in and attend another class. All of our Messy Church adult leaders have had police vulnerable sector checks, and we abide by the the protocols set out in our church protection plan, to make sure everyone stays safe.

Adult Learning

Growing as a disciple of Jesus is a life-long adventure.

*During COVID, Faith Formation classes for adults occur week nights on Zoom. Contact the church office for the most updated information.*

For disciples who want to learn among other adults, we offer as many opportunities throughout the year as possible in our own building, as well as updates about faith learning opportunities in the KW community and online.

Weekly, On Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30 AM, we offer an adult faith formation class. The topic of these classes varies. We study the Bible together, learn about prayer and other spiritual disciplines, share about our personal faith journeys, and dive into current issues (like the climate crisis, indigenous and settler relations, and mental health, to name a few), so that we grow, as disciples of Jesus, stronger in our faith, and more aware of the experience of God’s many diverse peoples. We invite both teachers from within our congregations, and guests from the broader community. New participants are always welcome.

Exploring Faith

Interested in beginning your walk with Jesus?

We would love to walk with you!

At FMC, we believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to beginning your faith journey. Our pastors and lay leaders work in small groups, or one-on-one, with people who are exploring a commitment to Christ, baptism and church membership. This way, we are able to take into consideration each person’s life journey, particular interests, and prior faith and church experience. We strive to develop a faith exploration plan that meets each person right where they are. Talk to a pastor at any time, if you are interested in taking the next step.
