Community life happens in many ways at FMC, as we worship and join with one another in many activities. We want to nurture a sense of welcome and community among congregational participants, and create opportunities for relationship and care beyond existing friendship and family circles.
We love to eat together. On many Sundays following worship, we gather for tasty potluck or prepared fundraiser meals. We welcome the Christmas season in with a turkey dinner for everyone. Pastors and Elders host meals to get better acquainted with newer participants. Check out our calendar for dates!
A variety of activities for fun and service provide an opportunity to meet new people within the church and to bring friends along. For example, preparing blankets (comforter-knotting) together for areas in the world struck by disaster or war brings all ages together around the needs of others.
We kick off the summer with our June picnic at Hidden Acres Mennonite Camp. Our church likes to go to the beach and camping together. Mid-summer finds us camping or spending the day together at the lovely big beach at Port Burwell Provincial Park.
Group camping at Algonquin Park the week leading to the Labour Day weekend has been a tradition for decades as we enjoy beautiful scenery, hikes, food, campfires, and swimming. Check out our calendar for dates!
People meet in pairs to exchange English and Spanish language learning.
Slo-Pitch League: From spring to fall, our church team participates in a Kitchener-Waterloo wide recreational Mennonite Slo-Pitch league. To connect with our Slo-Pitch captain, contact the church office.
Soccer on Sundays: What better way to connect than via the beautiful game! In English, en español, in Korean or Arabic or Nuer, we play for fun and fellowship whenever we can. During the winter months we book an indoor field every Sunday evening, 8:00-9:00.
All are welcome. ¡Bienvenidos todos! For more information contact the church office.
