Fall 2018, 9:30 – 10:30 am
Faith is “formed” across our life span and life circumstances, in home, school, church, social-media, and neighbourhoods – both local and global. We form faith in our connections with people who are similar to and also different from us. We form faith as we connect with God, through the Scriptures, through the gathered community of believers and by the Holy Spirit at work within us. The hour before our Sunday worship has opportunities for faith formation for all ages. Please join us as we continue to be formed.
Messy Church – 0-100 year olds, gather in the East Hall.
This is a multi-sensory, inter-generational, experiential-based approach to spirituality, worship and the Bible. We move beyond the segmentation of age cohorts and embrace the opportunity for the young to establish deep connections with a variety of adults within the congregation, and for adults of all ages to embrace the role of engaging and nurturing our young people. This class is open to all to attend: come and join us in learning and living our faith out together! Check in with Anna Janecek, Peggy Roth and Jean Ann Jutzi for more info.
Youth Class – grades 8– 12+, meet in the youth room.
- Why Jesus?
In a world that offers so many spiritual options and offerings, it can be challenging to say “yes” to the invitation to come to know God through Jesus. For four Sundays – October 28, Nov 4, 18 and 25, we will hear and engage the stories of those in our congregation who have said “yes” to Jesus. This class is hosted in the youth room, but open to everyone. Scott Albrecht & Christina Edmiston facilitating and sharing some of their faith stories.
Adult Faith Formation gatherings:
- Revelation: Fevered Nightmare or Word of Hope?
For four Sundays, October 28 to November 18, the Adult Faith Formation class explores the puzzling, disturbing, and fascinating very last book in the Bible, known both as Revelation and the Apocalypse of John. The best way to prepare for this is to read the book, and then to bring your questions, insights, and perspectives with you. Tom Yoder Neufeld leading
