Greetings FMC family.
9:30 am – Two weeks ago 94% of delegates to the Mennonite Church Canada Special Delegate Assembly in Winnipeg voted in favour of a new structure for MC Canada. And four of ‘us’ from First Mennonite were there. Come and hear Keith Regehr, Sharon Lamont, Arli Klassen and Tom Yoder Neufeld reflect on the gathering: what was decided and what it means for us.
Messy Church – 0-100 year olds, gather in the East Hall for a multi-sensory, intergenerational, experiential-based approach to spirituality, worship and the Bible, open to all, and especially geared to children.
Youth Class – grades 8–12+ this morning HELPING OUT WITH MESSY CHURCH!
10:45 am – Today the church is being blown about by winds of change. The restructuring of Mennonite Church Canada is a response to those forces. But in the Bible “wind” is also the same word as “spirit.” God’s Spirit/wind/breath gives life and energy to the church as Christ’s body, giving it the ability to cope with change, more, to do the work of Christ in the world. These bones can live!
Last Sunday we concluded our series on relearning discipleship with an invitation to consider being part of a “home group.” The invitation still stands! Sign up at the information board in the North Foyer or talk to Rene for more information.
