This Weekend ~ Sept 16-17

Greetings FMC family. ¡Saludos a todos!    As you enjoy what promises to be an amazing summer-like weekend, we also invite to join us in doing some deepening of our discipleship practices — encountering God in the everydays of life and being changed by those encounters.  Hope you’ll join us over the next couple of months as we touch on this topic in different ways.

Here’s what’s happening this weekend:

9:30 -10:30 am.  Faith Formation classes downstairs — Faith is “formed” across our life span and life circumstances, in home, school, church, social-media, and neighbourhoods – both local and global. We form faith in our connections with people who are similar to and different from us. We form faith as we connect with God, through the Scriptures, through the gathered community of believers and by the Holy Spirit at work within us. The hour before our Sunday worship has opportunities for faith formation for all ages.
Please join in:

Messy Church – 0-100 year olds, gather in the East Hall.  This is a multi-sensory, intergenerational, experiential-based approach to spirituality, worship and the Bible, open to all, and especially geared to children. Come and join us in learning and living our faith out together! Check in with Erin Gonzalia or Anna Janecek for more info.
Youth Class – grades 8–12+,  meet in the youth room. Teacher:  Scott Albrecht.
Adult Faith Formation in the West Hall  — Being a disciple. Leader:  Arli Klassen

10:45 am Worship   What does it mean to be a disciple? What does it mean to disciple others? Today we begin to relearn (viz. learn again) what it means to answer Jesus’ call to become a community of disciples. Rene Baergen preaching on “Discipleship is a verb”.

Name Tag season –From now through Thanksgiving everyone at FMC is asked to wear a name tag, to help us in connecting  names and faces. Computer generated name tags are provided by the office and stored in your mailbox.  Do you need a name tag?  Do you need a mailbox? Let the church office know.

7 pm FMC Sunday night soccer at Waterloo Park –  casual pickup games for everyone on the fields close to the Westmount entrance (located down the hill to the left of the parking lot). More info: Felipe Gonzalia 519-500-7573.
