This Weekend ~ May 20-21

Greetings FMC family. ¡Saludos a todos!
Remember our youth and leaders
: Noramy Gonzalia & Zach Kehl, participating in Pitch ‘n Praise this weekend in Ayr.
Ordination celebration this weekend Pastor Jonathan Abrham, of Shalom Healing and Worship Centre (gathering for worship at FMC on Sunday afternoons) is Licensed towards Ordination by Mennonite Church Eastern Canada. Although Joni has been an active preacher and evangelist since his youth, this is the first step in his leadership credentialing within a Canadian denomination. In Eritrean fashion, the celebration happens all weekend, with services Friday, Saturday & Sunday evenings. We at FMC are invited to join them at 7 pm, for the Saturday service when MCEC Conference Minister, Henry Paetkau will be present for the licensing.

Sábado @ 6 pm
Long Weekend, no Hispanic service. May 27, no service, we’ll be at the Relief Sale. Next Hispanic service and potluck, June 3, 5:00 PM hosted by Cesar and Lorenza Guevara. Sunday/Domingo, May 21
9:30 am
Faith formation classes downstairs.
Messy Church — ages 1 – 100 learning together in the East Hall.
Youth – No youth class due to Pitch ‘n Praise camping weekend.  Youth invited to Adult class.
Adults take a last journey into “povology” led by Tom Friesen. God’s solidarity with the poor permeates all of scripture, inviting us to consider our involvement.
10:45 am – Why Jesus? Too often we mark our birthday as the beginning of our human journey. What if we dare to look, as the Scriptures persistently proposes, that any human quest is rooted in the eternal realm of God?

We join the Global Day of Prayer to End Famine initiated by the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. If you want to help, see MCC’s most recent report of relief efforts in South Sudan https://goo.gl/JXSbIs

May 19-20 – Peter & Cath Woolner host an MCC SwaLeSA team meeting of 13 (10 service workers and 3 staff). As 8 are leaving SAfrica between June and October, this a time to reflect on joys and challenges, as well as some ’fun activities’.
